Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya – The Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School recently inaugurated its new building named Ambassador Jose Z. Oledan Building.
In his remarks, Joselito U. Quijano, Officer-in-charge, Administrative Officer IV mentioned that such project is a legacy from Ambassador Jose Z. Oledan, the grandfather of Congresswoman Buhay Party List Ma. Carissa O. Coscolluela who financed the project from her priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
It may be recalled that in May 2008, Congresswoman Coscolluela came to Nueva Vizcaya to grace the celebration of Vizcaya’s Panagyaman Festival upon the invitation of Congressman Carlos M. Padilla and Gov. Luisa Cuaresma likewise visited NVGCHS to see this school where her great grandfather was once a part of it. Later, the school welcomed her on May 23, 2008 and this marked the opening of the Congresswoman’s heart for the putting up of a concrete building in replacement of the dilapidated Home Economics building.
The project was made possible through the conglomerated efforts of Congressman Carlos Padilla, Governor Luisa Lloren Cuaresma, the NVGCHS Parents Teachers Association and stakeholders and Principal IV Rosalinda Reguyal.
From her PDAF, Representative Coscolluela allotted 1.7 million pesos to cover Phase I and later the amount of P3.03 million were released for the Phase II later sought the financial support of Senator Richard J. Gordon who augmented P500,000 from his PDAF.
The project cost P5,230,000 constructed through the Nueva Vizcaya First Engineering District, Department of Public Works and Highways.
Today, the building is being used frequently to host local, regional and national activities, as cafeteria during school days and the second floor as classroom of the TLE Department. |
